October 6: Visit and presentation by Mr. Nils Bade (left in picture) and Leonard Schauer (right in picture) from e-gnition Hamburg e.V. on the topic: “Engineering challenges of a prototype e-racecar”.

October 23: Presentation by Prof. Schuster with the topic “Machine Learning for SI & PI Engineering – Why Now?” during an Online Technical Meeting of the IEEE EMC Society. Further contributors were Dr. Zhiping Yang (JAY Plus Inc. und MST EMC Laboratory) and Dr. Majid Ahadi Dolatsara (Keysight Technologies).

October 04: Institute outing with a bicycle tour along the Elbe and through the apple plantations of the “Altes Land”. Our bicycle tour started and ended in the Hanseatic city of Stade.

July 13-14: This year’s PhD Student Day of the IEEE German EMC Chapter took place in Hamburg, respectively at the TUHH. The program was locally supported by Novicos (spin-off of TUHH) and TÜV Nord. PDF

July 7: Roof Terrace Party at the Location HipOne/Harbour Area, attended by all the Institutes based here. It was a wonderful opportunity for the Institutes to get to know each other personally at this location and celebrate together.”

February 7: Handing-over of the award certificates of the 2022 EMC Student Contest – bestowed by the IEEE Germany Section EMC Society Chapter – to Mr. Maximilian Helmich (left in the picture) and Mr. Kilian Makswit (right in the picture). Mr. Helmich and Mr. Makswit generated their contribution to the contest as an element of the EMC lecture by Prof. Schuster.

February 2 -3: This year’s Industry-Academic Forum on Electromagnetic Compatibility (www.emcforum.eu) took place February at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) and brought together over 70 EMC experts from industry and academia. The event was organized by the Institut für Theoretische Elektrotechnik, TUHH, with Prof. Schuster as General Chair. The EMC Forum is a European network where experts, engineers, researchers, and students in the field of EMC come together to discuss and exchange the latest developments, trends, and challenges.

February 1: Successful defense by M. Sc. Torben Wendt of his Ph.D. thesis “Hybrid Simulation of Multiport Structures for Diode Based Shielding Applications”.

December 21: Farewell to Dr. Yifan Qian who completed his research fellowship at the Institut für Theoretische Elektrotechnik. Dr. Qian was an academic guest supported by DAAD and CSC from July 2021 till December 2022.

May 23: Visit of Prof. Schuster with Prof. Frank Gronwald at the University of Siegen. Prof. Gronwald had been professor at the Institut für Theoretische Elektrotechnik of TUHH before accepting the position as head of the institute of “Reliability of Technical Systems and Electrical Measurement” in Siegen.
