December 15: Farewell of Dr.-Ing. Fabian Happ from the University Siegen who has worked for many years at the Institute of Electromagnetic Theory.

December 13: Successful defense by M. Sc. David Dahl of his Ph.D. thesis “Electromagnetic Modeling and Optimization of Through Silicon Vias“.

October 25-26: Active participation of Prof. Schuster in the EMC Boot Camp 2017 of the IEEE German EMC Chapter at Airbus Defence and Space in Ottobrunn near Munich. During these two days close too a hundred participants got to know the fundamentals of EMC in seminars and guided tours. PDF

July 13: Visit of Prof. Renato Rimolo-Donadio and farewell of Luis Ernesto Carrera Retana, both from the Costa Rica Institute of Technology (ITCR or TEC). Mr. Carrera Retana is a Ph. D. student at TEC and has been spending the last three months at the Institute and TUHH as an academic guest.

June 12: Successful defense by M. Sc. Jan Birger Preibisch of his Ph.D. thesis “Extension of the Contour Integral Method for Stochastic Modeling of Waveguiding Structures“.

May 22: Farewell of Peiyu Liang from Beihang University (Beijing, China) who has worked for half a year at the Institute of Electromagnetic Theory.

May 5: Invited talk at TUHH by Prof. Farhad Rachidi, Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, within the IEEE Distinguished Lecturer program of the IEEE EMC Society on the topic of „Everything you don’t know about lightning… and nobody else does either“. PDF

March 15: Farewell of Dr.-Ing. Miroslav Kotzev from the University Siegen who has worked for two years at the Institute of Electromagnetic Theory.

March 6: Third “International ElectroMagnetic Proficiency Test” (iEMPT) at TUHH. Three voluntary participants from TUHH’s Master’s program in Electrical Engineering signed up for this international test regarding Classical Electrodynamics and Transmission Line Theory.

December 5: Visit by Prof. Schuster of the Costa Rica Institute of Technology (Instituto Tecnologico de Costa Rica, ITCR) by invitation of Prof. Rimolo-Donadio, former Ph.D. student at TUHH. Both professors took part in the “Costa Rican – German Days of Innovation” in San Jose, Costa Rica, December 6-8, organized by the Costa Rican Ministry of Science, Technology and Telecommunications (MICITT) and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

October 13: Presentation by Prof. Schuster on the topic of “Fundamentals of Signal and Power Integrity“ during the EMC Boot Camp 2016 of the IEEE German EMC Chapter at Helmut-Schmidt-University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg.

October 11: Institute outing at the “Internationles Maritimes Museum Hamburg”.
