November 20.: Successful defense by Dipl.-Ing. Andreas Hardock of his Ph.D. thesis “Design of Passive Microwave Components on Muli-layered Printed Circuit Boards using Functional Vias”.

November 18: Presentations by Prof. Qi Wu and Prof. Christian Schuster at the Institute of High Frequency Engineering and Electronics of KIT by invitation of Prof. Thomas Zwick on the topics of antenna design for EMC testing and signal/power integrity, respectively. PDF

November 5.: Visit of a delegation of representatives of academic institutions from Costa Rica accompanied by the German Academic Exchange Service. Academic institutions represented were Instituto Tecnológico de Costa-Rica (TEC), Universidad Técnica Nacional (UTN), and Universidad Nacional (UNA).

October 5.-9.: Visit of Prof. Rimolo-Donadio, Costa Rica Institute of Technology (ITCR). Prof. Rimolo-Donadio graduated from TUHH with a Masters degree and obtained his Ph.D. in 2010 after working at the Institute of Electromagnetic Theory.

September 23: Institute outing to Timmendorf. A seaside city on the Baltic Sea.

September 8: Presentation by Prof. Schuster at the IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE) in Berlin during a special session on EMC with the topic „Ensuring Signal and Power Integrity for High-Speed Digital Systems“. PDF

March 20 : The President of the University of Technologie Hamburg-Harburg welcomes Prof. Qi Wu as a research fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

March 18 : Presentation by Prof. Schuster on the subject “Mit elektromagnetischen Wellen durch Raum und Zeit” as part of the “Day of Industrial and Engineering Mathematics” 2014 at TUHH.

March 3 : Prof. Qi Wu from Beihang University, Beijing, China, starts his two year research fellowship at the Institute of Electromagnetic Theory supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Prof. Wu will develop new methods to reduce interference of ultra-wideband antennas.

February 18 : The Institute celebrates Ms Freiberg 25th anniversary of service.
